Ho hum. You know, a message from a member of our favorite band would certainly brighten my day.You know, it's been over a year since they broke up. I can't believe that.
On the bright side, my band's about to start recording the 'ol album! YEAH! WOOHOO! less than 2 weeks, baby!!!! Work it, work it, it's your birthday, it's your birthday. Now if only Joseph Karnes would give me a call...

Okay, so the drummer's in constant collaboration with you guys - which is just kickass... BUT... Has ANYONE heard a whit or a whisper from Eric Dover? I mean, don't get me wrong, ya 'fish freaks, but I really dig the part of ID that DOESN'T sound like Jellyfish (I never really liked the Partridge Family too much anyhow). Did this Dover guy wrap up the ID gig and give up playing? Again, no offense to the Manning-Jelly folks, but you guys completely give NO info on this guy. So he's an asshole - so what. Is he playing in a band these days? Hunh?
just thought i'd tell you about an interesting gig i went to last week..! A couple of months ago the british music press listed the MOOG COOKBOOK as the support band for Air's upcoming uk dates. I've loved Jellyfish and Imperial Drag for years , and the chance of seeing Roger again was too much to miss ! Before i got tickets the press had changed it to saying Sean Lennon was Air's support, no mention of Moog Cookbook. As a Beatles fan for 14 years i bought tickets anyway, happy to see Sean :) but disappointed about missing Roger :( . Sitting on the front step of Manchester's Ritz to be first in for the front guess who went past?! Yes , Roger!! I chatted to him for a few minutes and he seemed pleased to meet a jf/id fan(there's not many of us over here!),and he said he's playing with Air tonight as part of their band. So it was a perfect night for me - seeing Sean live and the unexpected bonus of seeing Roger too!!It was so great to watch him back at the keyboards , but i just wish he was playing his own music not someone elses. He's such a cool guy , and even though i'm not that big an Air fan it was great! I knew he'd been touring with Beck , and a review the next day made it sound like the 4 extra musicians on stage were all from Becks band - he'd lent them to Air. The funny thing is these 4 really annoying know it all guys behind me before Air came on were going on about (and i quote!)"there's a moog keyboard up on stage - see, i told you it exists, remember that eels gig where they had this real funny record of grunge songs like buddy holly played just on a moog ?!!" etc etc - i felt like turning round and saying you're about to see the guy who did it , but i left them in their ignorance(is bliss)!!! It's 2 years since id played Manchester - the best gig ever , and i was so happy to meet them all too - icky , how come they made you arrive in the early afternoon to carry all the gear in and set up , when Roger, Eric, and Joe didn't show up til you'd done all the hard work?!!
Howdy one and all! It's Joe the Bass Player again after a lengthy departure from computer access. I don't log on much at all, but that might change in the future. It's beautiful to know you're all still here in some form or another. I've been so busy I haven't been able to see straight. Lately I've been teaching preschool for my day job as a way of doing something good for someone else instead of simply drowning in my own ego (I sing "Octopus' Garden" for the children all day, life can't be that bad). On top of that I've been playing in 8 different bands/projects, most of which I have some creative control over, some I'm just doing cause I love to play. Still doing the Gracie thing, making tons of demos and playing gigs and working it. Someday soon when the planets align we'll have a web site with some tunes on it so y'all can get a taste of one of the things I've been doing lately. To Ickylover, it was great to see you, brief as it was, at the Soul Coughing show last month and to talk to you on the phone when our NC friend was in town. To Icky, much love to you my friend, I'd love to see you soon. Congrats on the Cheap Trick hang and jam, I know it was a loooooong time coming for you. As for news of Dover, I think I'm the only ID member who still keeps in touch with him, although I haven't talked to him in a month or so. He's been writing solid this whole time since the breakup, stuff that ID fans should really dig when a record is finally made of it (again when the planets realign themselves...) I actually played a one-off gig with him in his friend's band IGMO, a few months ago here in L.A. Me and my guitarist from Gracie joined them for some industry show. All in good fun. I haven't talked to Rog in awhile but I know he's doing fine out there in TV Land. Anyhoo, I must take my leave. So sleep well everyone. Until next time...
Hey Joe.....thanks for the update Bro!!!! Glad to hear you're still alive and well...Good luck with Gracie and everything else you're doing....now if Icky would only check in again....It's been awhile, Ick....hope you're doing alright.
Hey Joe, Thanks for stopping by. It's been quite a while since we last heard from you here @ ID Headquarters. It's great to hear that you are working with so many bands and still going at it with Gracie. I am looking forward to seeing this website when it is finished. Good luck and ROCK ON!!!!!! Okay Icky, It's your turn. How are things going with you these days. BTW- why don't you and Joe get together and do something musically. Catch you guys later! Mark S.
A Big Hi to Eric Skodis, hope all's well hon. I was hoping you might turn up at the Sparks show but it was so packed it was impossible even to see more than a foot away! I finally got a publishing deal for the book, it should be out next year. All else is super, miss you and hope the same it true for you - best, Amelia

I am interested in getting in touch with "Icky"so he can quit his day job.Anyone know how?
For that are Interested, Brendan Benson played last night in Detroit Rock City at the Magic Stick. The show featured a nuumbe of old and new songs for BB and his band the incidentals. Was a nice treat for us mid-westerners. Brendan Benson currently lives in Detroit. P.S .. I saw Imperial Drag at Saint Andrews when they were headliners along with Super 8. We appreciate those West Coast bands coming to Detroit. The show was fantasic and it allowed me to experience ID atleast once. I have patiently waited for Redd Kross to come to Detroit for the last 5 or six years. Good luck to ID members!
