Adam,> >I realize that you are a busy man, I apologize for wasting your time with >my trivial, insignificant, >unimportant inquiries... But pleeease, PLEASE, pretty please I'm just dying >for a Jason Falkner update. >How is his new album coming along ? Is there a release date ? Throw me a >bone, will ya ?The last I heard was that it'll be out next month in France(?!) and in the US in February. I haven't talked to Jason in over a month or two. Adam
ICKY, The "Forgiven" thing is definately a subconscious nod (you did it in one performance yet not in another), so you're not off the hook yet, bro! And as for being the biggest fan, I can't help it. And did you sing the "Salvation Army Band" intro on the album? Do tell!I ran into a guy who used to play drums for eric back in alabamy. Interesting. See you later, you little pinwheels!
Hey Icky, Adam, As far as the biggest fan thing goes, i think we all know who that is, but im not really one to carry on any silly debate, i think the real biggest fan is obvious:) thanx for writin' again Icky, its kewl to hear your musical life is getting back on track, stardoom is waiting man! And yeah, who does do the intro singing on "Salvation Army Band"? until next time dragsters.......I.D. ROX!!!
HAPPY PREMATURE HALLOWEEN, DRAGSTERS !!!-I just love fall, don't you? Halloween is the coolest holiday! I wish it was an entire month long! I still don't know what I'm gonna "be" yet. I'm thinking of leaning towards a "Planet of the Apes" motif...? Who knows? I have a bit of sad news for some of you. It seems the Tories had a change of heart as to their new drummer choice. For reasons still really not fully known by me, They decided I was "not the guy". Hmm. Oh well...? My suspicion is that I was a bit too heavy for them. Maybe whoever speculated that My being somewhat of a "basher" was right, I dunno...? I think I scared them away.(Sigh). Oh well. It was fun while it lasted. Besides... all this means is...MORE TIME FOR ME & MY BAND!!! Now if I could only find a guitarist...? Oh yeah, and a bass player! WAIT!! Before everybody starts E-mailing their tapes of their cousins doing their best Yngwie imitations, I appreciate the effort, however, I really must decline the offers- the reason being is that I would rather use people that I either have already seen & am aware of their talents, or that have been recomended by other musician friends of mine that I trust know what I'm looking for. (Thanks, anyway!) HEY, I.D. LUV!- How could I have been so ignorant as to dare claim that anyone but you could be our "biggest fan"?! Please accept my sincerest appologies! HEY! DID ANYONE CATCH ANY OF THE THREE NIGHTS OF CHEAP TRICK AT THE HOUSE OF BLUES? HOOOOLLLLLEEEEEEE SHIT!!! (For those of you not in the know-or not in L.A.- This past weekend saw Cheap Trick performing-get this-the first three albums in order, that is; Thursday- first album, Friday-"In color", and Saturday-"Heaven Tonight"- Each night they played each album in chronological order, starting with the first song, playing every song in it's entirety, all the way to the end.) I was lucky enough to get tickets to the first night (Thurs.-1st album), and the third (Sat.-Heaven tonight). Besides the fact that I got to SEE Cheap Trick FOUR times in one month, Besides the fact that I got to open up, hang out with, and fucking PLAY WITH ROBIN FUCKING ZANDER!!!(sorry!), I cannot convey to you the sheer, unabashed, joy that was flowing through every fiber in my being as I watched those guys re-enact every bliss-filled moment-it was nothing less than pure checkered-rock satisfaction!!! THEY PLAYED FUCKING "MANDOCELLO", ALRIGHT?! I could go on, but I think you get the idea. I have officially over-dosed on Cheap Trick. And now, I can die. I am such a geek, I know. But you know what?, WHO FUCKING CARES?! I am now going to make an announcement: Cheap Trick is the best rock band in the world. There. I said it, I meant it, if you have a problem with that, Get the fuck outta my face. I mean that in the nicest of all possible ways. Goodnight. Love, ICKY.
Sorry! I'm lame! I didn't see my message on there & I pannicked! Wot a spas, eh? I almost forgot! The beginning of "Salvation Army Band" - That's me & Joe singing the twisted intro. They sped Joe's voice up & slowed mine down, that's why it sounds so wierd. The big harmonies in the song are Me, Eric, & Roger. That somg was always really fun to play live (of the Four times we played it!) because I loved to see everybody's jaws drop! As soon as we launched into the "Swing low, sweet Chariot..." it was like "WHOA!" It was an awesome feeling , like firing off a cannon! Anyways, that's it. Buh-BYE! -ICKY.
I've got first dibs on the guitarist spot! *sets up 5 marshall stacks and plugs up a Purple Aluminum Telecaster and begins bashing away at "Astronomy Domine" at a decibel level that would kill hamsters*Thanks for clearing that up about the Salvation Army Band. -Adam
HELP HELP ! I WANT TO BUY THE OFFICIAL MOOGCOOKBOOK VIDEO !!! ANYONE CAN HELP Copies would also be good
DAMN! That Tories thing sucks Icky! I had heard so many good things about them, and after I heard you were joining I finally got the CD and LOVE it! I thought their drum parts were kick ass and therefore thought you would have fit in great. Some of those drum parts really rock, so I wouldn't see it as a problem if you were a "basher". I must have listened to "Flying Solo" non stop for the last several days. What did they tell you? did they even give you a good reason? IMO, they've just made a BIG mistake!!!
hi there i am like biggest ID/JF fan in UK there is still loads i need to know 'cos our music press has has no coverage of Andy S of Jase F or anyone, please E mail me and lets chat/trade bye for now
Ha! Nor do we. (woudn't that be nice?)
ola dragster/dragaholics/dragalishishers (?!?) it's been a while since i've posted, but i found something we all might like! check it out, it's a ken stringfellow (of the posies) website, but go to the bootlegs and rarities section! woo hoo! lots o' jellyfishies and even ONE Imperial Drag bootleg! had the distinct pleasure of seeing everyone favorite keyboard player roger manning with Air a coupla weeks ago. he and brian are filling up the otherwise empty space that would be an Air concert with their magnificent sounds a la moog. it was nifty. then after the show hanging out with roger, a few star spotting - beck (tiny tiny guy)and our other favorite Jason Falkner! it was great listening to roger and jason chat & shoot the shhh. refering to old studio days etc. and of course everyone's favorite drummer icky was there! sometimes i have to pinch myself. whelp that's all folks! i just thought you'd all want to check out this website:> http://hometown.aol.com/mj238/khome.html
