good day one and all, good to know that the id crew (and it's extended family) are still alive and well...as a person trapped in 'magical, mystical' Ireland (!) it's tough to get in contact with consieurs of such fine music. as one of the cornerstones of my musical taste, it was a treat to come accross the chat page. id were dead important in what they produced on the album and even to the singles (which somehow managed to reach us). when britany and n'sick are the flavour of the month, it's essential that there is music out there to prove that you don't have to be (1)manufactured, (2)miserable or (3)oasis to play you instrument and hit a note that reaches people's head, heart and everything else inbetween. currently writing my own album so i know where to contact my band! masterplan is to record at the end of next year - anyone interested in inputing to the material and prepared to help me sprinkle some fairy dust on my ideas, give us a shout. I'd go local but most irish musicians are a bit fixated on radiohead and the 'struggle within' (give me a break) so i'm looking for a few good (wo)men to change the world. not much to ask. either way - appreciate y'all been out there and thanks for all the bands you keep namedropping - gives me more stuff i can harass my music biz buddies for. later alligators
ICKY - Sorry I missed the gig on 9/3. I had a problem getting up there from "behind the orange curtain"!! But, I am glad I waited for the "Taste of Newport". I will be there tomorrow night for the gig!! YAY! It will be cool-lotsa great food-like a big taste-fest! DIG, MAN-Hey when I said you were a motherf*****, I meant it in a positive way, like wow, a great motherf***** drummer! I just read that last long raving post, and it looked a bit odd, like it could be taken the wrong way-I hope it was not! Hope to see you tomorrow, ICKY! I will be with a couple of big women..HAHA! I am not kidding! HAHAW! "The Looney Wonderbass"
Icky -Just wanted to say that I enjoyed the show at the Taste of Newport on Friday PM. Great solo-you were thundering and smokin' as usual-I kept telling people-go see'em, the drummer is smokin'!! BTW, I am sorry we didn't meet, as I WALKED RIGHT BY YOU!! HAHA! You were sitting at one of those tables on the grass median around 6:45-7:00 PM. The last time I saw you, I am embarrassed to say, was in ID photos and a video someone made for me of a performance in Germany, and man, let's just say you look quite different (the hair and all)-cool look now! So your stage moniker is now "Hot Wheels"? Is that just because of the shirt, and you telling them not to call you Eric, or because Dale couldn't remember your name? HAHA! I am totally teasing you, man. Just want you to know how enjoyable the show was. AND tell us about your bass player-that kid has soo much energy up there, and he was really groovin'-a lad after my own musical heart! No hype, folks-Dale still gets most of those notes, and the band is very tight! Get out and see 'em-Icky is the bonus, man! Really fun!! Also: Talk of some unreleased ID demos is circulating about-I have no sound card to download (my work computer)...I am trying to hook up with somebody on that.... Hope all of you are well, "Wonderbass Tom"
