Why has it been so long since anyone posted?
Probably has something to do with the absence of band member postings, which is kinda strange
I do have a request to make YET AGAIN! If anybody has the Australian promo CD or any singles with Hey Honey Please, She Cries All Night, and Mother Nature on it, I'd love to have it. I'll trade you an autographed Imperial Drag CD. Maybe. Or I could just send you a non-autographed one. HELL I DON'T KNOW! I just know I want those songs on CD (CD-R maybe?) and that I also am very proud of my autographed ID album (though it's signed "To Julie: get well"!) and my name's not Julie as you may have guessed. This is an especially cool thing if your name IS julie and you like imperial drag and you have a cold. Anyway, if you can help me, email me. Adam
Just a quick update on why there might be less Icky postings than normal. Icky's friend, Eddie Kurdziel of Redd Kross fame, died last month. Out of respect for Eddie, his family, and his friends, I'm not going to get into the specifics of what happened. It's a tragic loss. I saw Icky, Roger, the McDonald brothers, and Brian Reitzel at the memorial...just thought you folks might want to know about that. Best wishes to Icky...I knew him too bro and miss him very much... Jeremy
hi i would like to chat with some one ala.
Hi folks...just caught Roger in his side man role with Beck (a repeat, of course!). Beck was cool and Roger backed him as only Roger can...however I just kept thinking about the old Jellyfish/ID days and really missed him being out front as, at the very least, a co-leader of the band. Nostalgia sets in... Jeremy
Best wishes to all - Thanks, Tiger, for all your help with the "hook up". I will keep you posted! Speaking of which,I haven't posted in awhile, but I WIL (!)hook you up, Adam! Speaking of which, if anyone needs the "It's Five O'clock Somewhere" CD by the Snakepit featuring Mr. Eric Dover, please Email me privately. I can let it go very cheaply, or if you have any Imperial Drag stuff (Cd singles, promo stuff) to trade that would be very cool. Thanks! "WONDERBASS"
tell me your address so i can be your boyfriend
I'm BAAAAAAAAAAAACCK!!! Sorry I was gone for so long. An awful lot has been going on as of late. Most recently, sadly, as I'm sure you've all heard, my buddy Eddie Kurdziel "past away" this past month. That was very hard to take, as you can probably imagine. Everyone who ever knew him will miss him, greatly. I will always remember him as not only one of, if not the best guitarists I have ever set ears on, but as an amazing person as well. I only knew him for a brief five years, but they were a great five years. If you would all honor him by playing a track off "Phaseshifter" by Redd Kross and listening to his genius guitar playing, or thinking of him next time you hear a Ted Nugent sone (his favorite guitarist, ever!), I'm sure he would definitely appreciate it, as I know I would! His service at the Griffith Park merry-go-round a couple of weeks ago was really nice. It was really great to see all the people he touched in his all too brief life. We all just sat around & listened to Ed's favorites (Cheap Trick, The 'Nuge, etc.), and talked about what we liked about him and will miss the most. Roger was there, and had some nice things to say, as of course, did I. I really want to thank all of those that were there. I'm sure he would have dug it. (Sigh) > WELL. On a more upbeat note, HOW THE HELL ARE 'YA? I caught up on all of your messages just now, and it sure is good to be missed! I want to address a couple of things first off: I wanted to say thanks to my pal Marc Danzeisenfor posting the pic's of I.D. from the Tower parking lot gig. Thanks, Marc! They look awesome on this site! (by the way for those trivia buffs, Marc was the "other drummer" that I.D. had before me. Marc was the one who called me with the gig!)-to woever said that Owsley was "the shit" - isn't he though? I got his record about two or three months ago, and it rocks! If you guys like that, check out the latest from SELF - Matt Mahaffey has done it again, he's a frickin' geu=nius, that boy is. Speaking of "frickin' geniuses", I saw Jason (Falkner)at the Cheap Trick show about a month ago (I see that fuckin guy everywhere I go - Sloan, St. Etienne,...), and we briefly chatted - I really put him on the spot& asked him why he didn't hire me for his band! - Boy was his face red! He was cool about it, though & said it was becvause he had already chosen Brian Keats (Three day Wheelie) as his man (sure Jason, whatEVER!). My highlight of the night came when Rick Neilsen, in his usual mid-"Surrender" gesture, threw the proverbial "KISS records" out-and I CAUGHT IT! YYYYESSSS!!! My rock moment!(Everybody stole the picks off of it though!) Jason gave me his "hail Satan!"-hand symbol in rock approval, and all was good. > I wanted to give a shout out to Tiger, for STILL keeping the faith (Thanks, Bro!), to ickylvr, for bein's'damn cute!, to I.D.LUV for still being there, Adam (sorry, man, I really DO want to hear your shit - I am going to try again to get in touch with you so's I can hear it, I PROMISE - just remember, I STILL don't have a P.C. (yeah, I know, I'm lame)), and all the rest o' my 'peeps represntin' me, 'yo! (er, whatever.) O.K., And now, the really big news. Guess who's playing drums for MISSING PERSONS? No, guess. C'mon. No, not Brian Keats, it's ME! That's right. I know you're impressed. I caled my Mom & everything. Yes I am (trying to) fill the very big shoes of drumlord
CRAP!!!! Sorry guys, "typ-o-graphical error"....where was I?... > oh yes,...Drumlord TERRY BOZIO. I just joined this past week. We already played a show at Hollywood Park (yes, the horse-racing track!) this past weekend (don't be bummed, I didn't tell anyone about it, it was our first show.) It's a good thing, too - We got cancelled in the middle of our set because the crowd of crazed KROQ listeners got too crazed! Security said "that's it. 'Shows over. Go Home!" Sigh. What can you do? Anyways, I wanted to let you guys know the dates so if you guys want to come down & see me & say "Hi!", you could; FRI., 7/23-schooner's-Lancaster, CA.-SAT.,7/24-Country club-Reseda, CA.-THURS., 7/29-House Of Blues-Las Vegas (baby, Vegas!)NV.-FRI.,7/30-Mason Jar-Phoenix, AZ.-SAT., 7/31-Crossroads-Yucaipa, CA-WED.,8/4-Maestro's-San Ramon, CA.THURS., 8/5 Mother's Tavern-San Luis Obispo,CA-FRI.,8/6-The Usual-San Jose,CA.SAT.,8/7-Brave Bull-San Gabriel, CA.-FRI.,8/13-Rhino Retro Fest-Santa Monica Civic Ctr.-Santa Monica, CA.-SAT., 8/14-Brick by Brick-San Diego, CA.-SUN.,8/15-Chiller's-Redondo beach, CA.-FRI., 8/20 (my Birthday!)-China Beach-San Clemente, CA-SAT., 8/21-The Sunset-Sierra Madre, CA..> All of the shows after that are either in Mexico or still pending, so I'll fill you in as it goes. The only original member of the band is DALE BOZZIO, who's very sweet, very funny, and very unpredictable! The tour (so far) is only through the summer, as you can see, and I don't know if there's going to be any more after that. In the MEANTIME... > For those of you still wondering, pondering "what's Icky doing with himself, musically?", well, first you need some more activities to fill up your time with, mmmKAY? Then you need to know that I'm so close. Sooooo close to putting the finishing touches on my project called...Aw, I can't tell you YET! You just bide you time, my pretties. It wil be upon us soon enough. In the meantime..."PLEASE REMAIN SEATED!' > -ICK
Icky! So glad to see you back. I could only play 'phone tag with ya last time I was in town. :-(
That is great news about you with the MPs. I once met Rob O'Hearn, who used to tickle the ivories for them. Super great guy and an amazing player! Was that you who popped in here a while ago with the line from 'Destination Unknown'?
Keep on keeping on, brother. I will watch my screen for a show in my area.
Love,
Tiger *
Icky! Shame on you! *I* posted those pics after Marc sent them to me as a surprise! There's still a few more to scan, if anybody's INTERESTED(???!!!)
Also, we are mastering the CDs and (of course) haven't printed them up yet. First we need a name... =) But we didn't use your drum loop in the song or anything. It did certainly get the job done, though! Marc has my address and he can get you in touch with me. If he ever gets back from all his studio work abroad... Adam
