To all the drag fans, thanks for being out there, its nice to know i am not alone. If you wanna get in touch please do so.
Icky,
remember that drum loop i made from "spyder"? Well, we of course did not use it on the final recording... only the demo. But it helped me to write the song... a good tool. The final drums don't sound anything like "Spyder", but that's what we meant to do. I love writing over a drum loop. It helps a lot. Anyhoo... I'm thanking you in our liner notes and I'd like to send you a copy of our album when we get it finished... either the 3-song version or the 7-song version... Depends on when i'm able to get an address to send it to. So would the real icky please send me your address? I'll mail you to confirm. I promise I won't drive to your post office address and wait for you! =) Whatever dude... i just wanna send you a copy as some sort of a thank you for inspiration.
by the way... a recent true rumor:Hmm... I heard Eric Dover CUT HIS HAIR!!!
spicegirls are the worst group i have ever heard!!!!!!! they are pathetic losers and ne one who likes them are pathetic no hope dickheads that believe in GIRL POWER what the fuck is that??? i mean they dress in slutty little outfits and expect to get respect and to get ahead in life with their so called "talent" rather than the size of their tits UR ALL LOSERS
u re all a bunch of no life losers that have nothing better to do with your pathetic exsistance than to talk with ppl u don't even know just because you don't have a life or any real friends u may as well call intro line or some other patheic line like that in fact i bet most of u have already tried all the intro lines and personals because ur all such losers
wow... even the flames are boring now
Hmmm....who's the bigger loser; people who post to message boards to discuss music, or morons whose life is so pathetic they have nothing better in their lives to do than post to the same board just call us losers? I think the real moron is quite clear.
and apparently can't read too well since they seem to think this board has something to do with the spice girls!??? and aren't even brave enough to back up their comments with a real e-mail. Now lets get back to music.
Hey, just to clear up, on the JF list I have heard discussions of some people not having the little "sound bytes" before certain songs on their CD. However the songs that some people have said they have "sound bytes" before were not the same songs I have sound bytes before on my CD! Are theire several versions of the cd? I know I have a little sound byte before "man in the moon", I believe, and one other song which escapes me at the moment. Can anyone clear this up?
DOH! I forgot to put my email in the last postings! Wouldn't wanna mouth off and then not leave my e-mail! Sorry for the multiple postings!
Heath! Dammit! This isn't a chat room! You can't use up that much space!
Just kidding. There do seem to be 3 or so versions of the album. We have the opening Zodiac Sign snippet "This isn't a discotheque darling, this is the theatre of the stars!" and then we have the Man On The Moon thing about the moon rising and the whole world... you have that one. Then there's the one from right before Spyder about being "Laid back - it's a sordid term but that's how it's used". The theory is that since those samples (at least 2 of them) are taken from the Australian version of "Star Search", and that Australians don't have that version so ID won't get sued. So, Hman! What show is it?
DOH! I think that might explain. I got my ID cd from a friend in Australia who sent it as a gift. I don't have the Zodia sign or Spyder sound bits! I feel robbed!
PLEASE REMAIN SEATED! MISSION TO MARS IS COMING!END OF TRANSMISSION*
Hey Icky and "Joe Bass"...are you guys still out there? We'd love an update...
Roger kinda took an odd direction playing keys, synth, harpsichord and some other thing on becks new album. He's still doing the cosmic thing with the sounds and all but he should of saved them for something a little bit more hip. Becks album put me to sleep even if roger is the only good thing about it. Imperial Drag broke up because nobody got behind em. I think I saw their video for boy or girl on 120 minutes once. Thats it. No radio airplay. and bands like Matchbox 20 can sell a zillion records, but extremely talented bands who could digest Matchbox 20 as soon as they plug in like Jellyfish, Imperial Drag, Van Halen3(justkidding) have to struggle. The music industry is fuc#$%!!!!!
AHOY, MATEYS! 'TIS I, YER FAITHFUL CAPTAIN, RETURNED FROM A VOYAGE'ROUND THE DEPTHS OF A MAN'S SOUL. SORRY FOR THE LONG BREAK IN TRANSMISSIONS. I'VE BEEN TOILING AWAY OVER A HOT MUSICAL PROJECT (I know, I know,"if you can't stand the heat...") IT'S FINALLY COMING ABOUT (to use another nautical term) AND I'M REALLY FUCKING EXCITED! IT COULD VERY SOON BE A REALITY. IF YOU'RE NOT SLEEPING, YOU MAY EVEN PICK UP ON SOME CLEVERLY (and some NOT so cleverly) PLACED HINTS. UH OH, GOTTA GO. UNTIL NEXT TIME KIDS, "PERMANECER SENTADOS, POR FAVOR!" -ICK. (P.S.-IMPERIAL DRAG DIDN'T BREAK UP BECAUSE WE COULDN'T HOLD ON OR HACK IT, IT WAS DUE TO A LETHARGIC, UNMOTIVATED, CHEMICALLY DEPENDANT LEADER. YEAH, OUCH! - BUH-BYE!)
Jason Falkner's new CD is so sweet, it's given me a cavity. "Holiday" is such a good song. I hope he becomes wildly famous with this effort. He deserves it more than anyone out there. He makes it all seem so effortless. Mmmm mmmm
Say Icky. Why don't you see about joining Jason Falkner's band? Not that it's as easy as picking up a phone, but why not? The man can't play every friggin' instrument on tour supporting his new CD and your sorta made from the same musical mold (i.e. Jellyfish, Imperial Drag etc), so ... just an idea.
Todavia siento que Jason Falkner es La Bomba!
Is there anybody out there
